Catalogue Screen

The Catalogue screen is divided into TWELVE tab sheets, which provide three options for entry of bibliographic data, as well as tab sheets for data related to acquisitions; shelf items; serial accessioning; routing; abstracts; relationships including indexed content such as journal articles; links such as web sites; and record security.

The three options for entering bibliographic data are:

  1. Catalogue tab screen for entry and display of standard bibliographic data

  2. USMARC tab screen for entry and display of standard bibliographic data in MARC format, including Libraries Australia records

  3. Custom tab screen for entry and display of non-standard bibliographic data i.e. data stored in an in-house database such as legislation, jurisdiction and map databases

Tips:

  • Data entered in the USMARC and Custom tab screen is mapped to the Catalogue tab screen.

  • Data entered on the Catalogue tab screen is not mapped to the USMARC or Custom tab screens.

Other tab screen include:

  1. Acq'ns tab screen for entry and display of acquisition data, including a summary of order and payment records

  2. Shelf tab screen for entry and display of shelf item and holdings data, including a summary of shelf item records

  3. Serials tab screen for entry and display of serial issue data, including a summary of serial issues ordered and received

  4. Links tab screen for entry and display of links to electronic documents and files, web sites and networked applications

  5. Routing tab screen for entry and display of routing data, including a summary of all attached routing lists

  6. Abstract tab screen for entry and display of abstracts

  7. Review tab screen for entry and display of user comments

  8. Relationships tab screen for entry and display of indexed articles (or other component parts, such as chapters or papers), including a summary of all issues and associated articles; arbitrary relationships to other catalogue records and other categories

  9. Security tab screen for entry and display of security contexts describing which individuals and groups of user will have access to the record
