FIRST Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) |
Used by a Library’s end users to search the FIRST WebAdmin database from their desktop via an organisation’s intranet or over the Internet. Appendix A provides instructions for using the FIRST OPAC application.

FIRST Web Desk |
Used by your internal and external users to search your knowledge database, add documents and comments, as well as receive messages and access targeted information services and products. Appendix A provides instructions for using the FIRST Web Desk application.

FIRST Messaging |
Messaging system the delivers messages based on defined data conditions via email, fax, SMS and web publication. The UTILITIES chapter of this manual sets out instructions for configuring FIRST messages. |

FIRST Knowledge Agent |
Messaging system that delivers a range of knowledge-based alerting services directly to the FIRST WebAdmin or via email, fax or SMS. This agent scans your knowledge database for resources or events that match each individual user’s knowledge profile. Security application |
FIRST Security Monitor |
Security system that allows you to restrict access to knowledge resources to specific users or groups of users. The security monitor also allows you to identify any potential conflict of interest in relation to document and functional access. |
