FIRST WebAdmin Help Version 2.16 © 2012 FIRST Software Solutions Pty Ltd
As part of the cataloguing process FIRST creates hypertext links to related records, based on authorised Author, Series and Subject headings entered in the catalogue record.
These records are displayed with hypertext links on the both the search result and full record OPAC screens to allow users to navigate around the database and view related information.
In a similar way, you can catalogue relevant web sites as an extension of your local catalogue. From OPAC, a user can link directly to a Web site from the OPAC search results and full record screens.
You can also catalogue and link files, such as image and document files, stored on your organisation’s Intranet. Using the same approach, you can create hypertext links to executable applications such as networked CD ROM databases.
Hypertext links to files, web sites and executable applications are established using the Links tab on the Catalogue tab screen.
